Hello shareholders and welcome to week 65 of my journey towards health and fitness.
As the title suggests, I am going to take a little break.
I am going to quit blogging.
For a week.
This has been quite an incredible summer. Nix that. It has been an incredible year. I have lost weight like a BAWS! I have reached a level of fitness that I never thought I would EVER reach in my entire life. I seriously thought, right up until May of last year, that I was doomed to a life of being overweight and unhappy. The past year has been such a drastic change in my life that it is affecting EVERY aspect of it. Most times for the good, sometimes for the bad. If you didn’t read my post on How to Triathlon, please go back and read it. It is by far the single biggest athletic accomplishment of my life. But it took everything out of me. I am sore…in the legs, in the chest, in the head.
I need a mental health week, and I haven’t really taken a break from the blog since I started it.
So with that being said, on Monday I am leaving the country.
That’s right. As in, I’m leaving…on a jet plane. Don’t know when I’ll be back again. Except I do know. I will be back on the 14th of August.
I am going to Scotland on Monday with my wife and little girl. The Hurricane (my two year old boy) will be staying with my folks. I am going to spend some time with my brother from another mother, Drew, and his family. I plan to rest. Sight see. Eat. Spoil my little girl and wife. Commune with some of my favorite people in the world. And maybe, just maybe, I will run across the Firth of Fourth Road Bridge…
I am sooooooo looking forward to getting over there and seeing my Scottish kin. Wanna see something crazy? Here is a picture of me from the last time I was over in 2009.
I can rock a kilt, but I am thinking that my seams were screaming in that picture. Allow me to show you that kilt on me now…
Yeah. The blue shirt was a bad choice, but you get the point. I need to call my kilt tailor…
I have some pretty awesome people lined up to do some guest posts for me next week, so that you will not be lacking in good content to consume. You better show them the love!
If you are interested in keeping an eye on my trip, then make sure to follow me on Instagram. I plan to post pics there as often as possible.
I may squeeze one more post in before I leave, meaning that I have one brewing in my head that is relevant, but I’m not sure. If I don’t, consider this my farewell, for now…
I love you guys.
Peace. Love. IrnBru. Haggis.
