Week 68 – Rewarding Yourself

Hello beautiful folks. I am in a chipper mood this evening and therefore am going to keep this short and simple.

Last week I posted some weight loss pictures that took every fiber in my being to put on the interwebz. I am still a little nauseated thinking about it. I am not going to go back and look at it, but you feel free to.

This week I am going to show you something that makes my smile widen and my eyes shine bright. I have posted a couple of times about how one of my goals in this weight loss and fitness journey is to be able to surf.  In the first post that I made about surfing I talked about how I am a soul surfer that doesn’t surf, who could not surf, because of my weight. Then I lost 80 pounds. I then wrote about how I had realized a goal by getting to a weight in which I felt comfortable trying surfing again.

Well I have been going out all summer now. And while I am no where near what any Johnny Come-Lately would consider “half-way decent,” I AM enjoying myself like never before.

Now I could reward myself for losing enough weight to realize a life long dream by going out and crushing an entire pizza and a bucket of beer. But I am not a dog. I should not reward myself with food.

So how, pray tell, should I reward myself for this accomplishment?

I think a new custom surfboard should do the trick…

Just in time for hurricane season to really kick in.

Don’t reward yourself with food when you hit milestones and have victories. Find things that will motivate you to continue to strive for your goals.
