This is the first weigh-in of the rest of my life. Here are the results for week 18:
Today: 274.6 lbs.
Last Week: 276.2 lbs.
Week Difference: -1.6 lbs.
Total Loss: 60 lbs.

I have had a rough week guys. No lie. I am claiming this small loss in the name of dealing with tough life shit. Sorry for the swear, but that is what it is and there is no need to sugar coat it. The excrement is not related to my weight loss, but it is affecting all aspects of my life. I am not going to whine about it here but I just wanted to let you know. Thanks for the support that you guys give me here because it has influence over my entire existence.
Now on to the interesting stuff.
First off, I have ordered a new scale. It has not arrived yet, so I was not able to post the cool new data that I will be tracking (body fat and lean mass). I should have it soon though. I have realized that the number I see on the scale is only a small portion of determining my overall health. What I want to see even more than my weight go down is to see my body fat percentage go down while my lean muscle mass goes up. That is the kind of progress that lets you know that you are doing things the right way. Stay tuned for these new indicators!
Second off, I went to the doctor this week for the first time since January of this year. I wanted to check in with the doc to make sure that I am doing ok health wise and I also wanted to get some blood work to check out my triglycerides and my cholesterol profile. When I came in in January I weighed in at 343 pounds. When I weighed in at 279 pounds this time around, I think I threw the nurse for a loop. A 64 pound loss since my last visit is pretty significant. My doctor came in and was just short of hugging me and giving me high fives. He told me I was a champ and that everything I was doing was the right thing. This is coming from the guy who basically told me several years ago that I was in denial about my obesity. It felt good. It felt right to have his approval, like it was some sort of medical endorsement. I like proving to people that I am going to succeed at this.
My goal for next week however is to get that number back up above 2 pounds lost. Don’t doubt me. It will happen.

And just for the heck of it, here is my workout from this morning. One more calorie and I could have said I worked the hell out…
