Weigh-In: Week 26 – The Week I Didn’t Sweat It

Week of 10-28 through 11-03 in the year of our Lord 2011
This is the first weigh-in of the rest of my life. Here are the results for week 26:

Today: 266 lbs.
Last Week: 263.6 lbs.
Week Difference: +2.4 lbs.

This is the week I didn’t sweat it.  That has dual meanings actually.  I will explain.

My body is doing some weird things I think.  I should really have been doing body measurements, like waist and biceps and all of that, since the beginning.  But I haven’t been.  Even though I am showing a gain this week, my pants are more loose than they were last week.  So I am not sweating this “gain.” I really wanted to drop 100 or more pounds and never have a week where I had a gain. But that didn’t happen either. But I am not sweating this “gain.”

Do I think I have hit the fabled weight stall or plateau? No.
I think that this week I most likely brought the gain on myself.  And here is where the “no sweat” has it’s second meaning.

If you read my last post, you will know that my sister got married this past weekend.  We had lots of friends and family in town and my great friend Andrew came to stay for the week all the way from the land of Scots.  Having so many people around made it tough for me to slip away to the gym. It bit into my routine. Hence “no sweat.” I did not get my work outs in this week as fiercely as I have been doing on a regular basis.  Also, I had at least two days where I did not log all of my food. I would not change it for anything though. Getting to spend time with one of my favorite people in the world is worth 2 pounds. No sweat.

So I didn’t exercise like I should have and I didn’t log all of my food (or drink wink wink) from my sister’s rehearsal party and and wedding reception.  That is why I think I had a gain this week.

But don’t worry folks. I haven’t fallen off the proverbial wagon. I just have to figure a better way to make sure my routine is not interrupted by life events.

I will master it.
And I will conquer.
You have my word.
