Weigh-In: Week 30 – The Week I Lost 100 Pounds (UNOFFICIALLY)

This is the first weigh-in of the rest of my life. Here are the results for week 30:

Today: 259.2 lbs.
Last Week: 261.2 lbs.
Week Difference: -2 lbs.
Total Loss: 75.4 lbs.
Body Fat: 21.1 % 
Lean Mass: 43.8%  
Blood Pressure: N/A
BMI: 32.4 (-0.2 )

My highest recorded weight in the past was 360 pounds.  That was about 5 or six years ago.  So as of today I have unofficially lost 100 pounds.  What does it feel like to lose 100 pounds? It feels pretty damn good to be quite honest.  You know what will feel even better? When that little ticker over there on the right side of my website says 100 pounds lost.

There are a good number of people who don’t normally follow weight loss bloggers reading my blog so let me expound for only a second.  When you decided to “go all in” in the weight loss game you have to have a specific starting point or, in my case, what I called my benchmark.  Makes sense right? If you are going to have a goal of losing weight you need a hard point from which to measure all future success. But in reality, a lot of us bloggers might have a bit of personal success before we get serious.  That is why you will see a lot of weight loss folks talking about their heaviest weight (HW) and then their starting weight (SW).  Sometimes those numbers are the same. Sometimes they aren’t. I think you are now sufficiently caught up on the lingo.

So even though it is an “unofficial” 100 pounds lost, this is still a pretty significant milestone in the weight loss journey.  I probably won’t go around telling anyone that I have lost 100 pounds, but I sure as Gehenna will be thinking it (google it folks.)

I was beginning to think that I had hit that mystifying wall known in our world as the “plateau” or a weight loss stall.  I do NOT want to accept that I have to hit that wall.  I have been watching the Biggest Loser for a while now and those guys never seem to hit a wall unless they quit trying.  I want to be like that.

I guess if I was working out 9 hours a day I wouldn’t have to worry right?

With that being said, I do understand that it happens.  Your body can only take so much drastic change before it screams, “Just wait a freaking minute there buddy!” But I think that it can be forced through. Does that make me naive? Probably.  Do I care? No. Beast.

Well I guess my perseverance has paid off in another way this week (or over the last couple of weeks really.)  I was asked to join the FitFluential Ambassadors program. This is a group of fitness bloggers who have influence on the web.  Ha! Me have fitness influence? And you said I would never amount to anything 7th grade math teacher Mrs. Woodward! I guess I am considered an influential blogger. That feels weird for me, but I will wear this as a badge of honor. I have already met a ton of cool people through the ambassador program and I have gotten a ton of emails and @mentions on twitter from people asking me about weight loss and asking for advice and encouragement.  I love talking to those who are in the same boat that I am and was. I will do anything within my powers for you guys, so just ask.

One thing I want to mention before I grace you with my mug…Louie’s Kids!

I have made a commitment to them as you know.  $5 for every pound that I lose by years end will be donated to them.  The end of that time period is quickly approaching so I need as much push and motivation as I can get to lose as much weight as I can in the next couple of weeks! Push me guys. I need your help.  Louie’s Kids need your help!
