So like I said this week in my post about the changes I was making, I have started tracking my food again in MyFitnessPal.
I have decided that in order to be where I want to be as an athlete, I need to lose another 30-35 pounds. That would put me at 225-230 pounds and give me an overall weight loss of 130-135 pounds. I will still be a Clydesdale triathlete, but I will be more competitive and more in line with the weight of the top guys in my division.
With that being said, I honestly believe that the only responsible way to lose weight is to hold yourself accountable to the food you are eating. I do this through tracking my calories in MFP and by eating food that is good for my body.
I have pretty much been bouncing in between 260 and 265 pounds for the past year and a half. I had stopped tracking my food intake before that stall. I started tracking again last week. Here is what happened.
Last week – 260.6 lbs
This week – 259.2 lbs
This week- -1.4 lbs
Well, there you have it folks. I am back in business. And I think business is going to be good…
…
So proud of you! I use mfp too!
Hank — have you considered doing the Healthy Charleston Challenge at the wellness center? New round (10 weeks) starts in Jan… Katie Williams and I could fill you in if interested…you obviously have tge fitness nailed, but the eating side is where it’s at…
Wendy, tell Katie to email me. 🙂
How tall are you?
Jim, I’m 6’3″.
I need to try the myfitnesspal, I’m 6′ 252 an been stuck here for a while. I know it’s my diet because I run an workout pretty consistently and for the most part eat pretty healthy but can not lose
Diet is the key for sure.
Also want to let you know that your an inspiration!
Thanks Jim!
I use my fitness pal too, even on days where I’m not stellar with my eating .. Keeps me accountable! 🙂
You cannot outrun the fork. Exercise for health, eat for weight management. especially women, we burn, maybe 100 calories a mile… you want an extra slice of pizza and a beer, that’s at least a 7 mile run, that pizza’s not looking so good.
